BioLaunch Mentor Collective

Peer-to-Peer Mentoring

As a new student, you probably have a lot of questions about academics and campus life. What if you had a fellow biology student who was there to answer your BioLaunch Markquestions, share their advice and generally help you get oriented? We want to introduce you to the BioLaunch Mentor Collective, a peer-to-peer program that will prepare you for success at UC Davis.

But don’t take our word for it. Check out this video with Lauren Watson and Jannerfer An to see firsthand how the BioLaunch Mentor Collective helped them both:

For Mentees

What is the BioLaunch Mentor Collective?
Based on your interests, you’ll be matched with a student mentor who can answer many common questions about academics, campus and more. This mentor began as a new student too and has volunteered to share their experiences to help get you familiar with life at UC Davis and welcome you to our community.

Who are the Mentors?
Your mentor will be a returning student in the College of Biological Sciences. If you tell us about your interests and the qualities of your ideal mentor, we’ll match you with a student that best fits your unique profile.

The BioLaunch Mentor Collective creates opportunities for mentors to build their leadership skills, share their experiences and help new students feel welcome.

How: Mentors and mentees will communicate through monthly check-ins via video-chat, text, email or any other method you and your mentee prefer.

How do I sign up?

Incoming College of Biological Scieneces students are invited to this program by email before Fall quarter.  If you have not received this email and want to participate, please contact the BioLaunch Program Coordinator at
