Monsanto Fellowship

The Monsanto Fellowship stipend is available to outstanding UC Davis, College of Biological Sciences, graduate students who are preparing for a career in agricultural biotechnology. Each year, a fellowship will be awarded in the amount of $3,000.00 each. These fellowships are made possible through an endowed student fellowship fund created by a gift from the Monsanto Corporation.

  • To be eligible for the Monsanto Fellowship, applicants shall have declared an intention to pursue a career in agricultural biotechnology. Students must be in good academic standing and are required to hold and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants must be full-time, registered graduate students.

    Interested students are asked to submit the following application materials:
    -one-page abstract describing your research
    -brief statement of your intentions to pursue a career in agricultural biotechnology
    -list of applicant's publications and awards
    -copy of academic record or transcript (sisweb NOT accepted)
    -one-page letter of support from your major professor

Bossuyt Scholarship

The Luc Bossuyt/Bristol-Myers Squibb Scholarship Fund was established as a scholarship fund for graduate students studying structural biology at the University of California, Davis. This travel award (up to $3,000) will be used to attend key presentations and conferences and to present research findings when appropriate.

Application deadline: June 1 and December 1

  • Eligibility and application instructions
  • Applications for the Bossuyt Scholarship will be accepted from graduate students in the Center for Structural Biology, a collaborative program between the College of Biological Sciences and the Department of Chemistry. Graduate students who plan to attend an international conference and/or symposia in the field of structural biology are eligible. Students must be in good academic standing and are required to hold and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants must be full-time, registered graduate students.

    Applications for travel during July 1 through December 31 are due to by June 1st. For travel during January 1 through June 30, applications are due December 1st.

    Interested students are asked to submit the following application materials:
    -copy of registration confirmation
    -list of applicant's publications and awards (if applicable)
    -copy of academic record or transcript (sisweb NOT accepted)
    -letter of recommendation from major professor

Eric and Louise Conn Graduate Student Award in Plant Biochemistry

The Conn Graduate Students Award supports one or more outstanding graduate students each year (1) whose research is in the field of plant biochemistry and (2) who are members of the Plant Biology Graduate Group and/or the Biochemistry and Molecular, Cellular and Development Biology Graduate Group and, (3) whose faculty mentors are in the College of Biological Sciences.

Application deadline: January 15

  • The award will be in the amount of $2,000 and given to a graduate student who meets the above criteria. Student must be in good academic standing and a full-time, registered graduate student.

    Interested students are asked to submit the following application materials:

    -one-page letter of support from your major professor
