Najwa Marrush grew up in Beirut, Lebanon. She moved to California when she was five and has been in the Davis area ever since. She attended UC Davis, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in political science with a minor in history. Post-graduation, she joined UC Davis as a staff member in the Department of Plant Sciences where she served as an administrative assistant to the chair. In 2016, she became the program coordinator for the Neuroscience graduate group. She joined the College of Biological Sciences in 2021 as the program coordinator for both the Integrative Genetics and Genomics and Biophysics graduate groups. She currently lives in Woodland, California with two devious cats and devotes her time to her nieces, nephews and her growing succulent collection.
