Philosophy of Care

I emphasize the importance of early identification and intervention for mental health concerns, with a strong emphasis on family involvement and use of evidence-based assessment and intervention procedures relying on a cognitive-behavioral therapeutic (CBT) framework.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Ragland provides diagnostic intake interviews for individuals with early psychosis using structured interviews (SCID). He also provides psychiatric inpatients with neuropsychological assessments.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Ragland's research focuses on using cognitive neuroscience and functional neuroimaging procedures (fMRI, EEG, MRS) to understand how learning and memory occur in the brain and how this is impacted by psychotic disorders. Also investigating behavioral interventions that may improve learning and memory in people with psychotic disorders.
