Profile Introduction

Research Interests

Studying adaptive tumor metabolism and immunogenicity in cancer therapy

We are investigating the mechanistic insights of radiation adaptive tumor metabolism that causes aggressive growth and resistance of cancer cells. A tumor resistant signaling network regulated by redox imbalance and mitochondrial metabolism is being investigated in an array of human cancers including breast, lung, prostate and liver. We are interested in revealing the radiation-associated tumor immunogenicity that can be targeted by a combined modality of radiation with immune check point inhibitions. We aim to deepen our understanding of the mechanisms underlying radiation-induced factors that regulate cellular energy dynamics and coordinate tumor immunogenicity. Identification of such potential immune-effective regulators especially those activated in radiation-treated tumor microenvironment will help to invent new binary therapeutic approaches in cancer treatment.
