Research Interests

Protein structure and dynamics

We are interested in the structure and conformational switching of proteins. Focus areas include aggregation and toxicity of the Alzheimer's A-beta peptide and the mechanism of the apoE4 protein in increasing the risk of Alzheimer's disease.  Our approach utilizes magnetic resonance of site-directed spin labels to observe protein structure and dynamics, as well as optical methods such as fluorescence and CD spectroscopy.
