Profile Introduction

Endocrine regulation of energy homeostasis, adipocyte metabolism, pathophysiology of diabetes, obesity, fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and cardiovascular disease. Animal models of diabetes and metabolic disease including the UC, Davis Type-2 Diabetes Rat and diet-induced nonhuman primate (rhesus macaque) models of metabolic syndrome, including dyslipidemia and insulin resistance.

Use of rodent and nonhuman primate models for evaluating the pathophysiology, prevention and treatment of metabolic diaeses, including cardiovascular disease, type-2 diabetes, and hepatic steatosis.
