What could you build if AI moved with you?

Step into the next wave of applied AI with the Meta Wearables — where ideas don’t stay on a screen. They move into the field.

Join the AIFS x Meta Wearables AI AgTech Hackathon! Work with a student team to develop your own app to solve a real-world challenge.

We provide the technology. You bring the ingenuity, creativity, and drive to get it done.

  • Submit your application as an individual
  • Get access to pre-work to get ready
  • Attend the kick-off where teams will be formed

This in-person event is sponsored by Meta and hosted by the AI Institute for Next Generation Food Systems (AIFS) on the UC Davis campus from May 15-17, 2026.

KICKOFF PANEL DISCUSSION
  • Hear from growers, industry leaders, startup founders, and the Meta team.
  • Explore how wearable AI could solve challenges across food and agriculture.
  • Discover opportunities and limitations teams should consider as they build.

Following the kickoff, we’ll build the teams, you’ll discuss ideas, then it’s a focused build sprint. Pitch your project to a panel of judges on Sunday.
