Adam Jozwiak, Assistant Professor of Molecular Biochemistry, University of California, Riverside, presents "From Cell Walls to Metabolites: How Plants Co-opt Cellulose Synthase-like Proteins for Specialized Metabolite Production".
Dr. Adam Jozwiak is an Assistant Professor of Molecular Biochemistry at the University of California, Riverside. He holds a Ph.D. in Plant Biochemistry from the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics in Warsaw, Poland. Before joining UC Riverside, Dr. Jozwiak completed postdoctoral research at the Weizmann Institute of Science, where he delved into the molecular mechanisms underlying plant specialized metabolism. His research focuses on the biosynthesis and evolution of plant specialized metabolites, with a particular emphasis on terpenoids and steroidal glycoalkaloids. Over his career, he has made significant contributions to understanding how plants produce and diversify these compounds, often exploring their ecological and evolutionary significance. Dr. Jozwiak has published extensively in high-impact journals and has received recognition for his innovative work in plant biochemistry.
