Application for EEOP Upper Division Programs

Thank you for your interest in applying to the EEOP Upper Division Programs! This application may be used to apply for the following programs:     

  • Accelerated Development of Aging Researchers-Honors (ADAR-Honors)
  • Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE)
  • Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC)

Application information:

  • To apply, you must be a current UC Davis student or expecting to transfer to UC Davis in the fall of the year you are applying to the programs.
  • All programs begin in the first week of Summer Session I.

To successfully complete this application, you will need the following information:

  • Your UCD ID number [optional for new transfer student applicants]. 
  • Your current cumulative college GPA. 
  • Number of units completed toward your UCD degree.
  • Recommender name, phone, and email address (we highly recommend that this be your current research mentor if you have one).
  • One letter of recommendation.*
  • Description of how program participation will help you attain your career goal(s) (700 characters, including spaces).
  • Statement of Purpose (5,000 characters, including spaces), including your academic background, the area(s) of research that interest you the most, any research experience, your future educational and career goals, and your reasons for wanting to pursue these goals.
  • Please describe your potential to contribute to biomedical research through your understanding of the barriers facing domestic minorities, students with disabilities, first generation students, former foster youth, and other members of groups underrepresented in the biomedical research workforce** as evidenced by your life experiences and educational background (1000 characters, including spaces).

*If you are currently in a lab, we encourage you to obtain a letter from the Principle Investigator of that lab. If you are not in a lab, the letter should be from someone who knows you in an academic environment (as an instructor, TA, or advisor), in a work environment (your supervisor), or in a volunteer environment (your supervisor).

**Previous or current homelessness, low-income, former recipient of the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program, former or current recipient of Federal Pell grants, former or current recipient of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, or students from rural areas lacking resources, such as those designated by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Rural Health Grants Eligibility Analyzer, or a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services-designated Low-Income and Health Professional Shortage Areas (link downloads an excel file that includes zipcodes).

Deadlines:

  • Application due no later than February 18, 2025 at 11:59pm. 
  • Recommendation letters are due by February 25, 2025 at 11:59pm.
