Colleagues, alumni and the general public are invited to a free symposium February 12-13 celebrating four decades of scientific achievements by Stephen Kowalczykowski, distinguished professor of microbiology and molecular genetics.
The symposium, “Mechanisms of Genome Maintenance,” will feature two days of talks by 25 speakers who include the foremost scholars in the field. Hosted at the Buehler Alumni Center, the symposium is supported by the Office of Research, the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, the College of Biological Sciences, the Storer Lecture series and the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics.
Talks will be given by scholars from all over the country and Europe. Confirmed speakers include eight members of the US National Academy of Sciences and two members of the British Royal Society. Attendees will include many alumni now working in academia, industry and the publishing world.
