Eileen Lacey, Professor of Integrative Biology and Curator of Mammals, Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, UC Berkeley, presents "Bigger is bolder: predictors of natal dispersal in colonial tuco-tucos".
Eileen Lacey is a behavioral biologist whose work examines the ecology and evolution of variation in animal social systems. In particular, she seeks to understand why some species live in groups while others are solitary. She has a real fondness for burrow-dwelling rodents and, during the course of her career, has studied taxa such as naked mole-rats, cururos, and tuco-tucos. Currently, her research integrates analyses of free-living and captive animals to explore the evolution of sociality within the genus Ctenomys.
