Kolby Jardine, Staff Scientist, Molecular Ecology and Biogeochemistry Department, Climate and Ecosystems Sciences Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, presents "C1 metabolism in plants and microbes".
Kolby Jardine is a Staff Scientist in the Climate and Ecosystems Sciences Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His research integrates field and laboratory studies to understand the role of plant and microbial metabolism in regulation carbon, nutrient, and trace gas cycling in terrestrial ecosystems. Jardine’s work spans molecular to ecosystem scales, with a focus on plant-microbe interactions, photorespiration, and C1-C15 metabolic pathways linking biosphere-atmosphere exchange. He has led field campaigns across tropical, temperate, and boreal forests and contributes to the NGEE-Tropics project, advancing predictive models of ecosystem function under global change.
