The Bers laboratory investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms controlling cardiac contraction, with particular emphasis on calcium and sodium signaling, electrophysiology, and mechanisms contributing to heart failure and arrhythmias.

The Science in Progress Talks are informal presentations of ongoing research projects by members of the Department of Pharmacology including faculty, students, postdoctoral scholars, and staff. These talks are designed to promote interactions within the department and provide individuals with an opportunity to obtain feedback on their research in progress.
