Profile Introduction

I am a behavioral ecologist whose research has focused on the social and environmental factors that affect the development and expression of animal behavior. I have investigated territorial defense, habitat selection, and the development of individual differences, as well as the ecological significance of these behaviors. Using a combination of field studies, laboratory experiments and theoretical approaches, I have aimed to understand the behaviors animals express under natural conditions, and the implications of those behaviors for problems in conservation biology.
