Research Interests

In my role as a cell biologist, I studied molecular motors and their functions within cells. My research focused on how the force and movement generated by these motors contribute to the mechanisms of mitosis and ciliogenesis. By improving our understanding of the fundamental molecular mechanisms of mitosis and ciliogenesis we may gain insights into how defects in these processes contribute to diseases such as cancers and ciliopathies. My work has been driven by a commitment to advancing research in cell biology and to promoting education in cell biology and related biophysical sciences.
