Kristen Kwan, Associate Professor of Human Genetics, University of Utah, presents "Cellular and Molecular Dynamics Shaping the Vertebrate Eye".

Kristen Kwan grew up in Southern California, in the suburbs of Los Angeles. She earned her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her PhD from Harvard Medical School, where she worked with Marc Kirschner on cell motility in early Xenopus development. Following graduate school, Kristen moved to zebrafish and carried out her postdoctoral work with the late Chi-Bin Chien. She started her lab in 2012, where she combines zebrafish molecular genetics with multidimensional imaging and computational approaches to understand development and morphogenesis of the vertebrate eye.
