My research focuses on equity and inclusion in science. In our lab, we work toward creating inclusive spaces for students in science classrooms through active learning, critical science curricula, and creation of inclusive, accessible biology content for every type of learner. We use mixed methods (quantitative and qualitative) education research to advance our understanding of how science culture, teaching, curricula, identity, and diverse backgrounds affect student learners in science.
