Claudia Ross-Ibarra

Research Interests

My scientific background is in diatom taxonomy (Bacillariophyta), with a particular focus on freshwater species, although I have also worked with marine diatoms. Over the years, I developed a strong interest in undergraduate education and have taught courses across a broad range of biological sciences, including botany, zoology, comparative physiology, and human physiology.

At UC Davis, I have the privilege of contributing to the academic coordination of BIO 1 and teaching BIO 2 and BIO 3. I am especially committed to creating an inclusive learning environment and supporting the success of students from all backgrounds, a commitment I am proud to share with my colleagues at UC Davis.
