Joyce Fernandez has been an academic adviser for the BASC since its inception in 2013. Joyce meets with students in Evolution, Ecology and Biodiversity, Plant Biology and Undeclared – Life Sciences. Joyce received her master's degree in Career Counseling with an emphasis in Higher Education from Chapman University, and her bachelor's degree in Ethnic Studies from California State University, Sacramento.
One of Joyce's favorite quotes is by poet Ralph Waldo Emerson and reads, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."
