From the Dean: A Call for Support

Donations and volunteers for The Pantry

Dear CBS Community,

As we continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we want to ensure our most vulnerable students receive necessary support during this time of crisis. For many, the UC Davis campus is a haven. Community spaces like Aggie Compass and The Pantry provide essential services for students facing housing issues and food insecurity. In a time of crisis, ensuring that these services continue is of utmost importance.

The Pantry’s current plan of action is to provide our most vulnerable students with a week’s worth of food and supplies, so they can avoid coming to campus to get their basic needs met. To do this, they need our help.

I’m asking the CBS community for helping hands this Friday and next Monday. The Pantry is seeking donations of non-perishable food items, produce, hygiene products, menstrual products and other inventory supplies. You can find a list of The Pantry’s most needed items here: https://thepantry.ucdavis.edu/contribute/

Donations will also be accepted at the College of Biological Sciences Dean's Office, located in the basement of the Life Sciences Building.

The Pantry is also seeking volunteers to assist with their mission. Those interested in volunteering should seek supervisor approval. Sign up to volunteer here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040f44acae2da7fc1-pantry2

If you have questions, you can contact The Pantry at thepantry@asucd.ucdavis.edu

Your support can help make a difference in another Aggie’s life. Thank you.
