My research team team focuses on the discovery and engineering of specialized (i.e. secondary) metabolic pathways in medicinal, bioenergy, and food plants. We integrate molecular biochemistry, functional genomics and protein structural-functional approaches to investigate plant metabolic diversity and translate this knowledge into new resources for crop improvement and plant natural product biomanufacture.
