Research Interests

My research team focuses on the discovery and engineering of specialized (i.e. secondary) metabolic pathways in medicinal, bioenergy, and food plants. We integrate molecular biochemistry, functional genomics and protein structural-functional approaches to investigate plant metabolic diversity and translate this knowledge into new resources for crop improvement and plant natural product biomanufacture.
